You tiao (oil stick) is a popular breakfast food — think churros, but without the cinnamon/sugar. Here’s how they make it:

Traditional breakfast... tofu soup, tea soaked egg, and oil sticks (also a soy bean milk - not pictured - that you can dip the oil stick in).
